Commercial

Commercial modelling also known as character modelling, it is an ever growing market and is by far the largest type of modelling.

C

ommercial models tend to be everyday looking people with that added sparkle. They can also be people with a character look e.g. Gothic or punk.

The models are used to promote products and are mainly photographed for:

  • Brochures
  • Posters
  • Billboards
  • Leaflets
  • Product packaging

They are also used from some T.V commercials. As commercial models are everyday looking people they can be successful at taking on T.V extra work, sometimes landing themselves small acting parts.

There is no specific height for a commercial model it will depend on what the client wants and what the model can offer. For instance if a client wants a head shot of a model smiling, for a tooth paste add, they are not going to be worried about the models shape or height. They are going to want an attractive, healthy looking face with a great set of pearly whites.

Modelling and Fashion Quotes

"When I was modeling as a teenager... I just ignored it when people said to lose two inches off my hips. I had more jobs than I could take. So why would I even want more?" -- Alexis Bledel
